Wasaga Beach Elections – The Courage for Change or Status Quo?
New release from Gary Cerantola – (Free-Press-Release.com) October 21, 2010 — Wasaga Beach Elections – The Courage for Change or Status Quo?
Whether you know it or not you can change the status quo. You can break those barriers of doing “the right thing” that the world has placed around you. Unfortunately, many people don’t realize they have this ability. They are so consumed with fear of change and the unknown that they are holding themselves back from pursuing their true dreams, passions, and desires.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Albert Einstein
Do you really want to elect a status quo Town Council?
So what does it come down to …..Risk.
Do you elect new people who have not been on your council before and take the risk that they may or may not bring fresh ideas, talents, capabilities that the council has never experienced before?
I see the voters of Wasaga Beach responsible for voting in a slate of councillors that will complement each other and achieve extraordinary results, no different than if they were managing their own personal investment portfolio. Would you put all the same kind of investments in your personal investment portfolio? No, you would not.
Creating a diverse investment portfolio is more likely to bring you successful investments overall than one that is not.
I believe that I am one of those unique investments that can really complement the Council portfolio with my unique skills, capabilities and experience.
I am a results-oriented professional with a broad academic and experiential grounding spanning 20+ years of experience in business development, service delivery, executive leadership, management, process engineering, strategic and business planning, sales, marketing, business process re-engineering, performance management, program and project management, training and development and team development. I left TELUS as a vice president of Strategic Accounts to create a management consulting practice and own and operate two businesses. I lead the development of a $55 Million telecommunications “fiber to the home” broadband connections business proposal for a group of five towns and associated county. I have experience at all levels from the boardroom down to the shop floor working on the tools. Currently I am teaching in areas of sustainability, environmental, technology, production and operations management and corporate planning and organizational behaviour. I have worked on corporate and non-profit boards for over 13 years in roles from Vice Chair to Board Secretary to Committee Chair in the areas of Finance, Audit, Executive Compensation and Community Relations. I am fluent in English and French.
It is our time to lead. It’s your time to select people that will provide you results in transforming Wasaga Beach into a leading community with the wherewithal to make things happen. We need to create a success story to promote to the world and to attract the right kind of developers, because we will have created a Master Plan that if elected I would dedicate my efforts to create with you as key stakeholders and Town Council that has been vetted, stress tested and deemed viable by our partners and our governments.
Working a Master Plan with our partners we would have very little problem attracting key professionals such as doctors to our community, developing integrated housing for seniors, families and single homeowners with proper access, services and supporting infrastructure, developing our beachfronts, attracting social and cultural venues and creating the quality of life our residents deserve.
