A relatively new citizen’s group is planning another meeting in our area.
Aware Simcoe will host a meeting at St. Mary’s Church in Collingwood next Saturday, August 14th from 10 AM to Noon.
At a recent meeting in Coldwater, the group said Simcoe County is spending too much money and incurring too much debt which has lowered the county’s credit rating from AA to A.
But Warden Cal Patterson says the county’s auditors tell him the county’s financial situation is a healthy one.
He adds it’s normal for the rating to drop slightly from time to time because borrowing money is sometimes unavoidable to fund necessary projects across the county.
And Patterson says an A rating is not bad at all.
