Steven Fishman, the candidate for Mayor of Wasaga Beach releases his platform for the upcoming October 25th, 2010 municipal election. His full platform can be found on his website at www.voteforsteve.ca
Here are some of the highlights of his platform.
• Creation of “Vision 20/20” the future of Wasaga Beach
• Moving our water billing system to a consumption only billing system, and offering a one-time rebate of $ 150.00 per household to help offset any overbilling that’s taken place since moving to the metered system.
• Offering all full-time residents over the age of 65 free seasonal parking passes for our Provincial Parks along beach area 3-6
• Creation of a transfer station between Collingwood and Wasaga Beach so residents can transfer from our bus system to Collingwood’s bus system.
• Bring in a code of ethics and conduct for both members of council and town staff.
• Develop our Industrial Park to attract Green Energy companies to our area, and create higher paying jobs.
• Invest more money in promoting Wasaga Beach as a tourist destination.
• Aggressively go after developers with proven track records to re-develop beach area’s 1 and 2.
• Work with our local school board and the Province to get a high school finally built in our town.
• Aggressively work with town staff to find ways to save tax dollars without sacrificing services.
• Get more parks, and sidewalks built in our town.
While we can’t change the past, we can shape the future of our town by creating a vision that’s fair, balanced, and accountable to each and every resident in our great town.
On October 25th, 2010 I ask for your vote and if elected I will work hard for each and every resident and not a select few.
