We are at a very important stage of the war to protect our water and it’s important that our supporters push back against any misinformation being circulated by pro-dump forces
To this end, we have uploaded the latest flyer we have developed for use in our campaign – leading up to the Sept. 22 vote by Simcoe County Council on withdrawing from the Dump Site 41 project, and with regard to our goals of getting the Certificate of Approval revoked by the Ontario government and having Simcoe County adopt a Zero Waste strategy.
Page 1 of the flyer provides some background information for those who might think this is “just a NIMBY issue.” The flyer is a good way of getting a conversation started. If someone wants more detailed information than you can provide, email us at info@dumpsite41.ca and we will be glad to have a knowledgeable supporter call him or her. Page 2 gives the ‘for’ and ‘against’ breakdown of the moratorium vote, with contact information for each councillor.
The flyers are already being used by our outreach teams in a number of municipalities. You can do your own outreach by downloading and printing just a few copies for your immediate circle of friends and family, or a whole lot to leaflet your neighbourhood, leave at the counter of a friendly store-owner, or distribute at weekend farmers’ markets and other events.
The flyer is posted under the ‘Links, Contacts & How You Can Help’ button (top left).
