2018 AWARE Simcoe questionnaire – Bruce Wiggins

from Bruce Wiggins website

As your councillor Bruce Wiggins will:

– Engage residents in genuine consultation, through town hall meetings and encourage meetings with individuals and groups for input into Council decisions before they are made.

– Promote open and honest discussion between the Township, Council and residents. There’s a lot of healing to do on both sides and it has to begin with honest communication.

– Ensure that all new development provides long term net benefits, to residents and contributes to our quality of life. Responsible business is to be encouraged when it meets all the criteria of well thought out planning that enhances the community.

– Maintain and enhance our community infrastructure, from roads and community halls to recreational facilities -such as dedicated baseball and soccer fields on Township owned land on Line 4 – all in a fiscally responsible manner.

What’s needed is a consensus builder like Bruce Wiggins to involve the community and seek funds from other than the Tax base to build needed outdoor recreation facilities.

– Vote to protect the water in our aquifers, streams, lakes and our wetlands, currently under threat from inappropriate development.

– Work with the agricultural community, to protect farming as a major economic and viable business in Oro-Medonte.
