The Christmas Bird Count for Kids is a fun, family-friendly bird-watching event that contributes to scientific bird count data.

The morning starts with a quick, fire-side lesson on local birds before we head outside for the count. Please come prepared for the weather and bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them. Additional binoculars and guides will be available for use at the event.

Registration Details

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration fee of $5 per person includes parking and hot chocolate.
All participants aged 4 and older, including adults, must register for this event. Children 3 and under attend free of charge.
Registration closes January 5, 2018, at 4:00 p.m.

MISSED THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE? You can register at the door the morning of the event. The door price is $7.50 per person, with children three and under free. CASH ONLY.

The Christmas Bird Count for Kids is an initiative of Bird Studies Canada. It is hosted at the Tiffin Centre by the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority. Thanks to the volunteers from the Brereton Field Naturalists’ Club for their support of this event, and Wild Birds Unlimited for bird seed throughout the year.
