Letter to AWARE Simcoe from Danial Boyce

We [meaning Danial and Tawnya], as the appellants in the OMB proceeding are so grateful for the overwhelming support of Council at the September 14th public meeting. Council unanimously voted to recommend repeal of the previously enacted bylaw, now known to have been enacted in error.

We are thankful to the approximately 75 people that filled Council chambers on Wednesday night, to demonstrate to our elected officials that we do watch what goes on, these decisions do affect us, and we will do everything it takes to ensure that everyone is treated fairly on a level playing field.

It is unfortunate that this has cost me approximately $20,000 to date, but I didn’t have a choice as answers were not forthcoming from staff. We will now have to see what this means for us going forward, but it was clear to us that Council will support our efforts to return this property to its Rural zoning.
