Today, Simcoe County Council voted to deny requests from five Midhurst developers for population allocations that would have provided for an extra 6,120 people in Springwater Township, over unanimous opposition from Springwater Council.

County councillors did approve an allocation of 15 people to a numbered company owned by the Walton Group in relation to five estate lots proposed at 2872 Old Second South Road, Midhurst.

The next stage of the battle over whether the population allocations should be granted will unfold in July, at the Ontario Municipal Board.
