Oro-Medonte’s Burl’s Creek plans more events in coming year

Expect more concerts at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in the year ahead, along with a battle at the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) over the Oro-Medonte festival venue’s planned expansion.

“We’re currently in discussions with a couple of other promoters in bringing some additional single-day concerts to Burl’s Creek in 2016,” said Ryan Howes, vice-president of business development and operations with Burl’s Creek.

WayHome Music and Arts Festival and Boots and Hearts Music Festival will return for 2016 along with the spring and fall Barrie Automotive Flea Market and OK Friday farmers’ market.

Burl’s Creek has connected with local companies and resorts, including Horseshoe Resort, to employ their winter staff during summer months, Howes said.
