A presentation was made to council by Mr. Ray Ellis, Chair, Huronia Airport Commission, and Mr. John Smith, manager of Huron Airport, concerning the proposed Solar Project at the Huronia Airport. Apparently, Tiny council had a meeting the week before and decided to support the airport’s application to EthoSolar. Two resolutions were passed with the first being in support of the solar project and the second being the transfer of information to the township lawyer for legal review.

A presentation was made to council by Liesja Lancia on behalf of the Sunset Bay Community Association to request the use of township property to build a senior/comminity centre in north Tiny. This group has been petitioning council since 1999 for this senior centre.

A presentation was made to council by Mr. Bill Goodale, Senior Technologist, and Mr.Rex Meadley, President, C.C. Tatham & Associates Limited, regarding the proposed Fill Control By-law. this By-law is to control fill coming into the township from the GTA area.  Also, this will stop the dredging from Penetanguishene Bay from being dumped into our fields in Tiny. Deputy-mayor Walma commented that this Fill By-law is needed to protect the environment in our township.

Mr. Jeff Langois, Vice-president, R.J. Burnside and Associates Ltd., made a presentation to council regarding the McMahan water system upgrades. There were also staff reports, Pubilc Works report and a McMahan Water System Analysis.

Fire Chief, Tony Mintoff from Emergency Services, brought forward a Review of Open Air Burning By-Law to prohibit the burning of leaves in Tiny Township. Starting in January 2016, the new by-law will take effect. The reason for this delay in starting this by-law is the township needs to educate the public. Just recently, there has been one death associated with the burning of leaves and five grass fires. There is alrady a bi-weekly pick up of leaves in the Spring and Fall.
