A five year review of taxable assessment patterns amongst the 16 towns and townships of Simcoe County reported average growth of 2.02 per cent since 2010.

New Tecumseth was one of five municipalities to post above average with a 2.32 per cent. Its highest rate was 2.98 per cent in 2010 to a below average increase of 1.23 per cent in 2011.

Bradford West Gwillimbury led the way with a 5.68 per cent over five years, reaching a high of 6.78 per cent in 2012. Even on the low end, its 4.59 per cent in 2014 was still double the County average.

At the other end of the scale, Adjala-Tosorontio’s five year assessment growth average was 0.81 per cent, second lowest to Ramara, which averaged 0.61 per cent. Ramara was the only County municipality to show a one year statistical drop, which was reported in 2013, at -0.01 per cent.

The County has also established the 2015 tax ratios so final property tax bills can be prepared. New Tecumseth ratepayers will contribute $13,913,557 in taxes to the upper tier, a decrease of 0.14 per cent, and second only behind Innisfil, which will be tapped for approximately $16 million.

Essa ratepayers will be levied about $7.3 million for the County, and Adjala-Tosorontio, $5.05 million. Overall, the County will collect $139,358,569 in 2015 property taxes.
