At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy-Mayor George Lawrence requested that a correspondence letter be movedfrom the “in-camera” portion of the agenda out into open session.

Mayor Ray Millar argued against Lawrence’s request, stating that the specifics of this issue should be heard “in-camera.” According to Tiny Clerk Doug Luker, after a half hour debate, council reached a “consensus” to continue the discussion in closed session. There was no vote.
The Bluewater Dunes Restoration Advisory Committee made an oral submission at the end of the last council meeting about the possible removal of the boardwalk on the beach. It has become damaged from the pile up of sand on it and it is unsafe. Council agreed to remove it before the summer.
Mayor Millar suggests that Keith Sherman, Executive Director of Severn Sound Environmental Association, be the representative for Tiny, Midland and Penetanguishene at the 2012 Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative (GLSLCI) conference being hosted bythe Quebec Metropolitan Community in Quebec City June 26t-28t. Tiny Township will provide the funding for Keith Sherman to attend this year but will ask for help in the future.
Councillor Warren states that the township has spent $120,000 on the septage issue but after hearing that the County might be doing a county-wide collection of septage, he is unsure about continuing with their own plans
Councillor Wishart suggest that the public should be given the opportunity to ask questions after the committee of the whole meeting. He says that nobody attends the 7:00 PM meeting when the blue question cards are permitted to be used. Mayor Millar commented that oral submissions are allowed at both meetings so there is no need for any changes.
