Clarification from Darren White, deputy mayor of Melancthon: The objection process under the Aggregate Resources Act has closed as was expected. What was extended is the comment period on the Environmental Registry of Ontario.
It should be noted however that these comments will be reviewed and form part of the record but Highlands has no obligation to respond to these comments, neither does the MNR.  They also will not send any notification that these comments have been received or reviewed.
That process is open until July 11, 2011. Letter are not necessary under this process, comments can be submitted electronically through the EBR website.
