Council approves one per cent tax hike
Bottom line will remain the same after county, education levies tabulated

PENETANGUISHENE – Penetanguishene residents will receive a pleasant surprise when they open their 2011 tax bills.
Council officially passed the 2011 capital and operating budgets on March 24, approving a zero per cent increase on the operating side and a one per cent hike for the capital program. The impact on the owner of a single-detached home assessed at $203,460 will be $18.11.
