“We are all in this together” appears to be a theme of six meetings held in Simcoe County over the past few months.
A seventh and final meeting of AWARE Simcoe will be held in Innisfil Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with networking sessions from 12 to 1 p.m. This meeting will be held at Innisfil Community Church, The Life Centre, 1571 Innisfil Beach Rd.
At previous meetings in Barrie, Bradford, Utopia, Penetanguishene, Coldwater and Collingwood, AWARE Simcoe has seen much growth and many issues being brought forth.
It seems many constituents are very concerned about how our local councils are making decisions that affect our environment, water, well being and the health of our habitat.
A huge issue is a need for openness and transparency in our council chambers, both at local and county levels.
We urge every one of you to come out to this final meeting and network with others in your area who will be forming local AWARE groups prior to election decisions in October.
You will be surprised to hear about some of the issues facing Simcoe County and pleased with the friendliness of the group and the baked goodies and coffee provided.
