Deliver Door Hangers

Get some fresh air, exercise, and volunteer hours! We need volunteers to help us deliver door hangers to a few neighbourhoods in Barrie and Oro-Medonte. We like to let the neighbours know that we will be planting trees in parks near their homes and hope to involve as many as possible. This is an ideal opportunity for pairs of people, including students. You do not have to be available for all delivery dates. We will need door hangers dropped off on the following dates:

  • Thursday, May 4th, 2023 (Barrie)
  • Sunday, May 7th, 2023 (Barrie)
  • Monday, May 15th, 2023 (Barrie)
  • Friday, May 19th, 2023 (Oro-Medonte)
  • Friday, May 26th, 2023 (Barrie)

Living Green Tree Planting FAQ’s

Q:Can I bring my kids to your tree planting events?

A: Yes, absolutely! We want to teach people of all ages how to properly plant a tree so it will grow to maturity. Please ensure that all children are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: Please bring water in your reusable water bottle, gardening gloves (we can provide them for anyone that doesn’t have gloves), dress for the weather, and wear sturdy closed-toe footwear. We provide shovels for digging and buckets for mulching and watering. If you bring your own shovel, please make sure it is marked with your name on it.

Q: Do you plant in the rain?

A: Yes! The trees LOVE that extra drink from the rain. We only cancel tree plantings  in the event of thunder and lightning or other hazardous weather conditions. In the event of a cancellation, we will send an email to all registered participants.

Q: Do I need to register?

A: Yes, please! Having participants register ahead of time allows us to plan accordingly for the planting event and get a hold of participants if necessary.
