Leitch expenses near half million dollars
Simcoe Grey Conservative MP Kellie Leitch cost taxpayers $447,399 between April 1, 2012 and March 31, 213, according to the Members’ Expenditures Report.
Ms. Leitch, who was recently elevated to Cabinet as Minister of Labour, and Minister Status of Women after serving as Parliamenty Secretary since her election in May 2011, spent $212,732 on her office staff and service contracts.
Ms. Leitch employs two full time and one part time staffer in the riding and two full time and one part time person in her Parliament Hill office. She has two offices in the riding, one in Collingwood and one in Alliston. She also spent about $96,000 in travel expenses. Advertising cost $31,174; Printing costs were approximately $37,000, and about $61,000 in office expenses.
Combined, MP’s spent $123.6 million in overall expenses for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2013, up $2.3 million over the previous year.
