OHI Update: Petition on Land Use Planning
Please sign the petition.
Please sign the OHI Petition on Land Use Planning: The Toronto Star this morning ran an OHI Op-ed on the need for a one-year extension to the July 2, 2022 deadline for Municipal Comprehensive Reviews and draft new official plans across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. You can see the text with a few changes for Minister Clark and endorse it at https://www.change.org/p/minister-mah-ontario-ca-ontario-should-extend-its-municipal-planning-process-at-least-one-year.
Submission on adding to the Greenbelt: The OHI supported a motion at the Durham Environmental Advisory Committee, as did about 50 others, to add parts of Carruthers Creek to the Greenbelt. Ours also proposed additional lands. See the submission, which includes mapping, at Microsoft Word – DEAC Jan 20.docx (ontarioheadwaters.ca).
Our next newsletter will release an extensive primer on ONTARIO’S FRAMEWORK APPROACHES TO WATERSHED MANAGEMENT and announce the name of our new webinar series on water. All the best until then,
