SIMCOE COUNTY – From 1851 to 2011, population in rural areas has been on the decline.
According to Statistics Canada there has been a massive influx of people moving away from rural areas, and the 2011 Census shows almost 70 per cent of Canada’s 33,476,688 people opted to live in metropolitan areas.
But a small minority still chooses to live rurally.
