The Simcoe Solar Farm Awareness Project[SSFAP] and Ontario Farmland Preservation with support from AWARE Oro-Medonte will host a symposium on Saturday January 29, 2011 in Coldwater Ontario.
TOPIC: The Importance of Preserving Agricultural Land from Large Scale Solar Facilities

This symposium will provide public information on the long lasting, devastating effects of the many large Photo Voltaic Electrical Generating Facilities that are being proposed for Simcoe County and the Province of Ontario.
“The current government is fast tracking the possibility of developing these facilities by means of the Green Energy Act that was passed in late 2009, with minimal input from the public” – Bernard Pope.
