Protect the Alliston aquifer’s pure water
Letter to the Toronto Star from Donna Deneault, Stouffville July 21 2018
Some of the cleanest water in the world is flowing through Simcoe County. You can drink it right out of the ground. The soil that exists there actually acts as a natural filtration system.
However, we are very concerned that this Alliston aquifer is in jeopardy. We have read that a quarry company is not only using a million litres of this water per day to wash gravel, but they are removing truckload after truckload of this magical soil that keeps the water pure. This could very well cause turbidity, which will forever destroy this pure water.
We must protect this precious water source.
