Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson is the new parliamentary assistant to the attorney general.

Saunderson was sworn in to the position June 29 and will work alongside attorney general and Barrie–Springwater–Oro-Medonte MPP Doug Downey.

Parliamentary assistants support ministers with legislative and committee matters, including special projects and assignments that require dedicated leadership.

“I’m looking forward to working with Doug on the administration and judicial system in Ontario,” Saunderson said.

He was officially sworn in as MPP for Simcoe-Grey on June 23 in the legislature. Saunderson takes over for Jim Wilson, who retired after 32 years in office.
