Have you heard of Eeyou Istchee, one of the largest Indigenous-led conservation initiatives on Earth? Join us on February 10th at 12:00 pm to learn how the Cree Nation is giving this land a voice to protect nature and their way of life.

The earth is facing a climate crisis and a biodiversity crisis. Significant efforts are underway to avoid catastrophe around the world. Canada, along with many other nations around the world, has recently committed to a major new goal to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030, and ensure the full recovery of nature by 2050. While governments and communities struggle to make this a reality, in this webinar, Norman A. Wapachee, Deputy Grand Chief of the Cree Nation, will share the story of one of the largest Indigenous-led conservation initiatives on earth. Join us to learn how the Cree Nation in northern Quebec is protecting and restoring their culture and the biodiversity within their territory of about 450,000 km2, and their efforts to give the land a voice.
