Are you passionate about climate justice? Do you live in or around Barrie, and want to see your city changed for the better? Do you want to support a group of ambitious youth? Learn more and get involved with SCEYA’s Imagine Barrie campaign!

The Simcoe County Environmental Youth Alliance is a group of passionate high school students from across Simcoe County advocating for climate justice. Their current campaign is focused on organizing a climate strike and ensuring that youth voices are heard in the planning process of Barrie’s upcoming Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan. As youth, we will demonstrate our collective vision for the future to the council, demanding they listen to our concerns to pass the plan and to include the youth’s perspective. Throughout the Imagine Barrie campaign, youth within and around the city will build momentum, organize a core team, and host a rally, advocating for the youth’s voice in the upcoming Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan for Barrie.

SCEYA, in collaboration with the Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition, will be hosting a rally in the fall within the Imagine Barrie Campaign, and there are many volunteer positions available if you want to be involved in the planning and/or execution of the rally. Fill out the volunteer form here. RSVP for the rally on October 17 from 1 to 3 pm here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/imagine-barrie-rally-for-our-future-tickets-166330572219
