Midland Coun. Carole McGinn and Penetanguishene Coun. Jessica Klug both passionately voiced concerns around Bill 66, the Restoring Ontario’s Competitiveness Act, at Jan. 23 council meetings.

“I publicly reject Bill 66,” said Klug, offering to craft a resolution for council to make their disdain with the legislation official.

“I believe we need to uphold our values and reject this bill. “In my opinion, passing an open-for-business bylaw would give complete disregard to these years of work and put the necessary environmental and provincial acts in place completely on the back burner,” said Klug.
