  1. A. Belanger says:

Many of us living in Simcoe County recall the Guergis family legacy leading up to the 2010 election. For those us against BACKDOOR POLITICS and against Site 41 recall vividly.
As was reported in the Toronto Star Oct.27, 2010 : “Voters rejected the Guergis family in a big way because they had come to symbolize behind-closed-doors politicking,” said Kate Harries, a board member of AWARE Simcoe

      Guergis Family hmmmmmm
      Interesting !
Do u know anybody else by the name of Guergis you would like to comment on .
Hope the BELenger Family are not close minded
And do a bit of research before they point fingers ,
There are approximate 100 members in this family .
Politics ? You never hear the good ?
Do some research u will find some good things that some members of this lump together group has done to better their community that flourish with their hard work and dedication .

  2. Daphne Kingsbury says:

I have lived in Essa for 50 years and know the Snr members of the Guergis family, it is huge family and to lump all the Guergis together is very unfair. Without this “family” we wouldn’t have had the Angus of today. They started many businesses, to name a few..they had only grocery store between Borden and Barrie for years, built a motel, steakhouse, garage, trailer court, a mall, furniture store, jewelry store, even a pool hall, three generations have served as mayors and councilors, they built their homes and raised their children here. I know how hard they worked on the arena project so to throw out statement of back door politics is uncalled for. Those that come from large families know there are always differences of opinion, and they should be judged as individuals. Mr Belanger what have you done for this community, that gives you the right to judge?
