Greetings, Tay Township!

My name is Joe Black, and I am running for the position of councillor in Ward 1 of Tay Township.

I am looking to bring a new, fresh voice to our community. I am a problem-solver, and find solutions to accomplish tasks and goals.

I am proud to have the endorsement of my father, Rick Black, a previous councillor of Ward 1. Through his terms on council I have seen first-hand the outcomes of being a dedicated council member. I have also worked closely with him on many of his projects for Tay including our public cemetery, or recreational facility (ball diamonds and arena), our downtown pavilion, and many more.

From my research and public communication, I will advocate for the following:

— Calvert park to be revitalized as a small craft boat launch and picnic area

— Improve winter road maintenance

— Growth in our community, bringing affordable residential development

— Stronger public safety with increased police presence

— Derelict buildings throughout Tay Township torn down or revitalized — for example, vacant schools.
