Province aware of economic impact, insists Wynne
Premier says low water levels not just an environmental issue

NORTH SIMCOE – Premier Kathleen Wynne strongly disagrees with Penetanguishene Mayor Gerry Marshall’s repeated claim that the province doesn’t get the economic impact of low water levels.
During an Aug. 9 visit to Barrie, Wynne was asked about Marshall’s view that the governing Liberals wrongly treat Georgian Bay water levels as strictly a matter for the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR).
“I see it as an economic issue. I would really challenge (any statement that I don’t),” Wynne insisted. “I am so concerned about the quality of water and the water levels.
