Dorland drops out of New Tecumseth council race

Ward 1 council candidate Gary Dorland told Free Press Online this afternoon that he was withdrawing from the election for “personal reasons.”
The two-time former Ward 1 councillor has run in every New Tecumseth municipal campaign since 1994. He is the first local council candidate to withdraw from a campaign so close to election day since amalgamation in 1991.
Mr Dorland’s name will still appear on the ballot since they have already been printed.
Three candidates remain in Ward 1 including Bob Marrs, Wayne Noye, and Joyce Walker.
