The Ford government is attempting to develop the Bradford Bypass, a major highway through an incredibly sensitive natural area. Along with the bypass, there will be many devastating environmental impacts to both the Holland Marsh, which it is planned to be built on, as well as Lake Simcoe and the surrounding watershed. Government officials believe the bypass is necessary to solve traffic congestion issues today and to support future growth. However, there are other solutions that would not jeopardise vital green space. Environmental advocates have proposed these alternate solutions to officials, only to be ignored.
