LPAT accepts Friends of Simcoe Forests appeal
From the Friends of Simcoe Forests
The Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) has received The Friends of Simcoe Forests (FSF) appeal on the Ministry’s decision for a proposed Environmental Resource Recovery Centre in Simcoe County Forest.
The Tribunal is required to conduct a preliminary determination on the validity of the notice of appeal. On February 19, 2019 FSF received notification from LPAT that the screening has been completed and that the Tribunal has made a preliminary determination that this notice of appeal is valid.
Timeline and important dates to be determined.
We are very pleased to announce that FSF Inc. has retained the professional services of The Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA) to represent the interests of the Friends of Simcoe Forests during the appeals process.
We are honoured to have two very well respected lawyers from CELA assigned to our case – Ramani Nadarajah and Jacqueline Wilson.
We greatly appreciate this opportunity to work with this highly regarded legal aid clinic. The experience and expertise that CELA brings to this cause will be quite beneficial and will hopefully help to secure a favourable outcome for our Simcoe County Forest.
This is fantastic news!
