Douglas Leroux – Pentanguishene Mayor
From Midland Mirror
My name is Douglas Leroux, and I should be the next mayor of Penetanguishene.
My loyalty, transparency, energy and accountability have never wavered.
With over 25 years of political experience, as a former deputy mayor and councillor, I have chaired all major sections of municipal politics.
Moreover, I am a past president of the Southern Georgian Bay Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Penetanguishene Public Library, Museum, Police Services, Curling Club and the Committee of Adjustment.
I am presently the chair of recreation and community services.
My background experience as a teacher, accountant, manager of several finance companies and current owner of a construction company have prepared me to tackle anything I am presented with.
In short, my management and leadership skills are solid, enabling me to deal with challenging decisions as they arise.
The issues I will champion, if elected include: To immediately address all neglected infrastructure needs, Pay down the town debt, Maintain low taxes, Continue to be an advocate for all environmental needs, including the Preserve and Protect Wetland Initiative, Address the implementation of a secondary water source in order to promote town growth, Advocate for affordable housing in appropriately-zoned areas, To promote and beautify our main street with historical art/placards for business recruitment and customer retention, As a bilingual person, I will continue to support and promote the Francophone community.
Under my leadership, I promise that I will make myself available to all of my constituents, and I will listen to all of your needs to ensure that Penetanguishene can be the best community possible.
For a better tomorrow, vote Douglas Leroux!
