I want to thank the residents of Tiny for allowing me to serve them for the past four years. During this time, I have worked extremely hard to create a sense of unity and empowerment and make our beautiful Township an even better place for residents to live and work. As requested by our residents through their Strategic Plan, we made council more accessible through live-streamed council meetings, town halls and open deputation periods. We put a new parking program in place and improved recreation facilities and services. We are tackling invasive species. We are just getting started with the Local Aging Plan, affordable housing, telecommunications and transportation.

I grew up in Wyevale but left for Toronto when I was 18 to attend school. After graduating, I worked in the advertising industry for 16 years in the GTA. Since coming back to my roots in Tiny 10 years ago, I have been working in my partner’s engineering and water treatment business.

I enjoy being part of a team. I believe the path to success lies in working co-operatively with others and capitalizing on everyone’s strengths. I bring a strong research background and knowledge of planning and development. As a passionate volunteer myself, I advocate for community groups and encourage the Township’s support, so they can provide important services to our residents.

In addition to the great projects already underway, we have other challenges and opportunities. We need to do more to protect our water. As approved by council, I will collaborate with staff and the SSEA to create a source water protection initiative for private wells. I will also continue meeting with the MOECC to end the practice of raw septage spreading in fields. I will strategize with staff and council on ways to deal with our aging infrastructure while minimizing the tax implications and protecting our reserves.

Let’s keep up the momentum and have another great four years!

I understand that the removal of phragmites is a top priority in Tiny.

In light of the recent case of Johnson versus Monsanto, where Monsanto was ordered fines of 289 million for failure to warn of cancer risks posed by Roundup, and in light of the WHO listing of glyphosate as a probable carcinogen, can you confirm whether you support removal of phragmites by means other than Roundup?
