From the Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition

We are pleased to partner with the Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA), the Ontario Headwaters Institute, and the Ontario Environment Network to present, “WaterScapes – A Community Discussion on Water Protection”.

Featured speaker, Monica Poremba, (CELA) will speak on “Ontario’s Water Policy Context: How is our water protected?”

She will be outlining the policies that are in place to protect water, their effectiveness and subsequent gaps. The event is free, but registration is required as we have limited seating.

Please consider forwarding this to your councillors urging them to come. We have heard many in County Council say that ‘water is already protected and there is no need for us to do more’ – this sadly isn’t the case. We’re hoping to reach them as well as arm our supporters with credible, factual information to show why the status quo is not good enough.

After Monica’s presentation there will be a discussion facilitated by Andrew McCammon of Ontario Headwaters Institute.

Date: Tuesday, February 13

Time: 2 – 4 pm

Location: Midhurst United Church, 91 Doran Road, Midhurst

Cost: Free, with registration.
