They Say No One Cares…

From the Midhurst Ratepayers’ Association

We’ve heard some on Springwater council believe that no one cares about the fate of Midhurst anymore – that people aren’t concerned about their water or the fate of their village. We absolutely know this is not true as we hear from our supporters on a weekly basis about these issues. This rhetoric only benefits the developers who wish we would just lie down and let them make their profit unfettered.

MRACouncil needs to see a show of support to remind them that Midhurst and its supporters will not lie down and lets its groundwater be mined, farmland paved, water courses threatened and debt to soar into the tens of millions of dollars for developer profit. Now more than ever, we need council’s vigilance and concern.

Tomorrow Wednesday May 17 we are making a special deputation to Council outlining how they can, once and for all, stand up for our water, smart growth and our community’s future and kill the MSP.

Please attend and bring friends. We need to have as many people as we can to remind council that this is not a done issue.

Meeting time: Wednesday, May 17 – 6:30 pm
Place: Springwater Administration Centre

**Deputations will begin at 6:40 roughly. Please feel free to leave after deputations (roughly by 7:30).

I was at the SAC to support the MRA. SAC has a webcam, records all of their council meetings. Curious to see if the section of the meeting where an annoying ping (every 15 seconds or so) interrupted the speakers was recorded, I viewed their their site on Utube, and discovered they had removed that of the deputation.
