Sunday April 30: Water protection at Midhurst Ratepayers’ AGM
From Sandy Buxton, Midhurst Ratepayers’ Association
Is your water protected? Attend our AGM to learn more.
Midhurst Community Hall, 74 Doran Road
7 pm AGM Business
7:30 pm Hydrogeologist Video
Here’s the format:
AGM – about 30 minutes
-financial and activity reports
—RATIFY bylaw amendments. Essentially, they boil down to these 2 points;
a. you’ll be able to participate by email and make nominations from the floor
b. enable the current Board to continue in their roles past the 3 year mark.
Rationale: the entire Board has been in place for the permitted 3 years. As we head into the homestretch in our fight to stop the MSP, we think it inadvisable to change the President (me), Treasurer (David Strachan) or Secretary (Margaret Prophet) at this time. We DO want, however, to increase the number of Members- at -Large. Our bylaws permit 7; and currently there are only 3 – Connie Spek, Barb Kutcher, and Kevin Newman.
Please think about how YOU can contribute to our work – doesn’t have to be as a Board member. We need all kinds of help – big and small!!
—election of new Board
—- VIDEO of Tim Lotimer’s (MRA’s expert hydrogeologist) FULL presentation on the MSP’s expected negative impact on our water
Tim presented his startling concerns and findings to the public on March 12th. Attendance was good considering it was March break. Now we’re offering you a chance to see it for the first – or even second – time. It’s packed with important info and serious implications for EVERY household. You owe it to yourself and your family to learn what you’re facing. Because from a water perspective – quantity and quality – things will be VERY different if the MSP goes through! And it will affect YOU directly!
