Tay Township mayor acclaimed as chair of board of health

The Simcoe Muskoka District Board of Health acclaimed Tay Township Mayor Scott Warnock as chair at its Jan. 18 meeting.
“I am honoured to be elected as the new chair of the board of health,” Warnock stated in a press release. “I am looking forward to the next year and I will be a strong advocate for the health unit and the great work it does.”
Aurora Mayor Geoff Dawe re-elected LSRCA chair for third term

Aurora Mayor Geoff Dawe returns as chair of the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA).
The board of directors re-elected him, for a third term, and Innisfil Coun. Richard Simpson to the position of vice-chair for a second term.
“Vice-chair Simpson and I are pleased to be able to offer another year of service to our watershed communities,” Dawe said. “We’ve both gained some really valuable experience dealing with a number of the initiatives and challenges over the course of our previous terms. And with the unwavering commitment of our fellow board members, we’re confident that we can continue to lead the way in making our communities more resilient to climate change impacts.”
Penetanguishene mayor adds new role to resumé

Penetanguishene Mayor Gerry Marshall can now add a new hat to his collection of political chapeaux.
Marshall, who also serves as Simcoe County warden, was recently elected chair of the Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus.
“I am honoured to have been elected to the position of chair by my peers from across southwestern Ontario,” he stated in a press release. “I look forward to helping drive our collective goals forward
