TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to the Planning Act the Corporation of the Town of New Tecumseth will hold a
Public Meeting
on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 7:00pm
in the Council Chambers of the Administration Centre,
10 Wellington Street East, Alliston
THE PURPOSE of the public meeting is to consider a proposed Town initiated Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment pursuant to Section 17 and 34 of the Planning Act, as amended. The effect of the amendments are to add policies/provisions to the Town’s Official Plan and Zoning By-law that implement the South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Source Protection Plan.
The proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment pertain to all lands within the Town. As such, no key map has been provided with this notice.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment.
If you wish to be notified of the adoption of the proposed Official Plan Amendment and approval of the Zoning By-law Amendment, or of the refusal of a request to amend the plan or by-law, you must make a written request to the Clerk, Town of New Tecumseth, 10 Wellington Street East, Alliston, Ontario L9R 1A1.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of New Tecumseth before the Official Plan Amendment is adopted and Zoning By-law Amendment is approved, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the County of Simcoe or the Town of New Tecumseth respectively to the Ontario Municipal Board.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town of New Tecumseth before the Official Plan Amendment is adopted and Zoning By-law Amendment is approved, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
