Severn Township is holding a public meeting Wednesday Sept. 14 2016 about a bad zoning decision that was based on a mapping error.
This 20 acre parcel of rural land at 4265 Carlyon Line, Severn Ont in situated in a residential area
The township brought forward a “house keeping” amendment as the applicants, purportedly to reinstate the original zoning of Heavy Industrial – but that had never been the zoning.
The township has admitted council passed a bylaw amendment based on incorrect information presented by township planning staff, only after two residents had spent $18,000.00 in lawyer and planner fees in an OMB appeal process.
There were never any studies or environmental assessments, no permits obtained by the property owner who has done a vast amount of work — trees clearcut, road built, ditches and culverts put in, topsoil removed, fill brought in, grade of land changed.
There has been no bylaw enforcement by the township regarding the property owner’s activities.
We are finally getting a public meeting!
We can ask questions, get information.
Council will be reconsidering its decision.
Please come out and support us in our fight for fair process and reconsideration
Council Meeting Wednesday Sept 14th 2016 at 7:30 pm at the Township of Severn’s Council chambers, 1024 Hurlwood Lane,Severn ON
