From Isabel Balarezo Blue Flag Program Coordinator

On September 27th, Environmental Defence and the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) are hosting a FREE workshop: From the Lawn to the Lake: How You Can Keep Lake Simcoe Swimmable. Join us and learn about what you can do to help keep Lake Simcoe’s waters great.

At the event, LSCRA will provide information about the health of Lake Simcoe and the local creeks and streams that feed it, the problem of stormwater runoff—one of the leading causes of pollution and nutrients entering the lake—and tips to help homeowners reduce runoff from their properties. Afterward, Environmental Defence will talk about the Blue Flag program, with a focus on the most common water quality issues at beaches, and what you can do to help.

Date: Tuesday, September 27th
Time: 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Location: Barrie Southshore Community Centre, 205 Lakeshore Dr., Barrie, ON
Cost: FREE. Space is limited. RSVP to save your spot.

Refreshments will be served.

We hope to see you there!
