The Township of Severn will hold a public meeting Sept. 14, giving residents a chance to give feedback about a zoning bylaw affecting property on Carlyon Line.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at the municipal office on Hurlwood Lane and will address the zoning-bylaw amendment relating to 4265 Carlyon Line, which is to change it from rural (RU) to general industrial (M2), an amendment made by council last December.

The matter is currently under appeal with the Ontario Municipal Board, which has asked council to reconsider its amendment since its decision was based on a misunderstanding in a staff report, according to the township.

Council adopted the bylaw amendment after staff reported the property was only being reinstated to its previous zoning status, yet it was designated as industrial but was never zoned as such.

The property is under a hold by the township, which requires the submission and approval of a site-plan agreement before any development can take place.
