Ontario makes $5-million infrastructure investment in Simcoe County
Will help projects in Penetanguishene, Orillia, Collingwood and New Tecumseth

SIMCOE COUNTY – The Ontario government is investing $5 million in Simcoe County infrastructure.
Jeff Leal, minister of agriculture, food and rural affairs, was on hand to make the announcement Monday in Penetanguishene.
The Town of Penetanguishene will receive nearly $1.1 million to rehabilitate and improve drainage along Champlain Road from Robbs Road. This will include new ditches, asphalt and gutters, as well as boulevard restoration and bike lanes.
Orillia will get up to $2 million to improve roadways on the west side of the city, Collingwood will receive up to $2 million to help improve the town’s water supply, and New Tecumseth will receive more than $750,000 for bridge repairs.
Leal said the government is committed to working with municipalities across the province to address infrastructure needs.
