Province appoints Collins to Barrie’s police board

Former Springwater mayor Linda Collins joins the Barrie Police Services Board Thursday.

That means both provincial appointees on the five-member board aren’t Barrie residents.

Collins lives in Midhurst while the board’s vice-chairperson, Angela Lockridge, lives in Oro-Medonte.

Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman, who also serves on the board, was surprised to learn about the residency issue.
