from Larry Herr, Oro-Medonte

A young 16-year-old science student from our own Oro-Medonte Township, Maya Burhanpurkar, has produced an excellent 36 minute documentary on global warming, called 400ppm. This title refers to the current concentration of 400 parts per million of CO2 in the Earth’s atmosphere, the highest level of this greenhouse gas in the last 2.5 million years. As you watch this documentary, it is not hard to understand why this young woman has won numerous awards for her scientific achievements. Here is the link to 400ppm. Enjoy, and learn more about global warming!

Note: Maya will be speaking in Barrie at the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts, on March 7 2016, as part of their Talk Is Free Theatre program.
