Report of Tiny Township Council Meeting Monday August 31, 2015

by Vickie Kee AWARE Tiny

I was assured by Shawn Persaud, Manager of Planning & Development in Tiny and Councillor Hinton that all approvals have been met for this “trailer park,” but this development has been reduced from the original plan that the OMB passed in 2008.
As I stated in my previous report, Phase One consists of fifty seasonal sites, one cabin for the caretaker, one comfort station and one in-ground pool. Bike rentals and tours will be available.
This is what Tiny Township is allowing for Phase One.
What is not being allowed in Phase One is a lodge, recreation hall, vehicle pumping station, cabins, laundry room and tuck shop.
Councillor Hinton assured me that the group of Tiny residents that were fighting this development back in 2008 are satisfied with the scale-down of the “trailer park” by the township.

Short-term rentals
A deputation to council was made by Mrs. Pamela Dear on her concerns of Short Term Rental Properties in the TinynBeaches Road North and the 18th Concession area. Could there be a resolution to limit the number of people on Rental Properties?
The landlord of these properties made a deputation to council regarding the accusations from neighbours in this same area over the rentals. He states that council has heard only one side of the story. There has never been any issue with the selection of renters. Only close family and friends rent the cottages. They are very strict of who they rent to. The landlord was asked by council if it was necessary to rent the cottages out in order to keep the cottage and the reply was “yes.”

Septage Update
Mayor Cornell stated that the County of Simcoe staff will be consulting with Tiny consultants on the Septage Issue. The Mayor said that about ten municipalities would benefit from having the County taking over the Septage problem so there is a bit of interest by the County.
