Simcoe North candidates on Food & Water First pledge

On Thursday, September 3rd, voters in the provincial riding of Simcoe North will choose a new MPP in a by-election. Over the past few weeks, the Green Party has challenged the three rival party candidates to show their support for protecting Ontario’s Class 1 farmland and water resources by taking the Food & Water First Pledge. (Ontario Green Party leader, Mike Schreiner, is the only provincial leader to sign it.)
At this date, not one of the other candidates — Ontario PC leader, Patrick Brown, Liberal candidate Fred Larsen or Elizabeth Van Houtte of the NDP — has taken the Pledge. The Green Party’s Valerie Powell has done so. Voting in Simcoe North on Thursday? Ask your candidate if he or she is committed to protecting Ontario’s best agricultural soil and water resources!
