Township of Tiny Strategic Plan Community Workshop Saturday July 11, 2015

By Vickie Kee AWARE Tiny
All of Tiny Council and staff were present.
Jamie Robinson, representing MHBC, Planning, Urban Design & Landscape Architecture, instructed about 30 of us to form working groups so that we could share our wisdom and insight into what the Township of Tiny should focus on over the next five years.
Some of the ideas and issues that came out of the discussion were: Protecting Our Water, Septage, Parking,
Protecting Our Environment, Rural and Peaceful Settings, Looking After Our Seniors, Protecting Our Farmland, Healthy Lifestyle and Invasive Species.
I found it to be a very interesting meeting.

Tiny Council Meeting Monday July 13,2015

Ms. Debbie Mailloux, owner of Jug City at North West Basin, made a deputation to council concerning the York St. road allowance in response to the Sale of Land Public Notice.
She wants to know how York St. became Township property and before making a decision, to come and see it for themselves. York St. is a highway for snowmobilers that brings business to her store.
Deputy- Mayor Walma stated that he needed to have a discussion with the rest of council over the Septage issue.
Yours truly had an interesting chat with the Deputy-Mayor at the Strategic Plan Meeting last Saturday on Septage.
He strongly believes that Septage should be a County wide issue. The MOE has to stop the dumping of Septage onto our fields in Tiny from other municipalities meaning Penetanguishene and Midland. Mayor Cornell has already brought this issue up at the County.
Tiny council went into Confidential/Close Session shortly after 10:00AM.
Council and staff went on a learning session around Tiny Township.
