MIDLAND – Midland Power Utility Corporation is once again on the market.
After a series of closed meetings since March, the town issued a press release Monday announcing it intends to “pursue a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process for a potential transaction involving Midland PUC.”
The results of this process are expected to be presented to council later this year. A public information session will be held July 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre.
Coun. Glen Canning, who is on MPUC’s board of directors, blamed the Ontario government for the town’s decision to seek proposals.
