Monday May 11: Save Strawberry Island presentation to Ramara

Pamela Fulford, who started an online petition will be giving a deputation to Council on Strawberry Island. She is opposing a proposal by Trans America Group, a real estate company from Alberta, to build 120 condominium units on small Strawberry Island in Lake Simcoe.
When: Monday May 11 at 7:00 p.m.
Where: Ramara Centre at 5482 Highway 12, Atherley, Ontario. (just outside of Orillia) NB -CHANGE OF VENUE due to the large number of people expected to be in attendance
This island is important for its woods, wetlands and untouched shoreline, all of which are disappearing rapidly in the Lake Simcoe watershed. Trans America wants Ramara Council to change its Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw, or the proposal cannot go ahead.
