Barrie has sent a member of the governing party to Queen’s Park: Ann Hoggarth, a teacher an union activist, yesterday defeated incumbent Rod Jackson by more than 2,000 votes. No surprises in other local ridings, with Progressive Conservative incumbents Jim Wilson, Garfield Dunlop and Julia Munro headed back to the opposition benches.
